What is an Enrolled Agent?

Being an Enrolled Agent qualifies us to represent you, the taxpayer, in front of the IRS for audits, collections and appeals. To become an Enrolled Agent, We had to pass a comprehensive exam that dealt with every aspect of the tax code.  EA’s are the only federally-licensed tax practitioners who specialize in taxation and also have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS. They’re often referred to as “America’s Tax Experts.”  While attorneys and certified public accountants are licensed by state, only enrolled agents specialize exclusively in taxes and are licensed in all 50 states.

Enrolled agents are required to complete many hours of continuing education each year to ensure they are up-to-date on the constantly changing tax code and must abide by a code of ethics. There are currently about 46,000 practicing Enrolled Agents in the country.
